Ukraine receives $1.35 billion in non-refundable aid from US
The United States has provided $1.35 billion in non-repayable assistance to Ukraine. These funds will go directly to Ukraine's state budget, according to Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal.
According to Shmyhal, the US government directed this funding through the US Agency for International Development (USAID) in coordination with the US Department of the Treasury and the US State Department.
"We are directing these funds to priority humanitarian and social programs," Shmyhal wrote.
Ukrainian Finance Minister Serhii Marchenko said that direct budget support from the US has totaled $28.2 billion since February 2022.
"This is the largest financial assistance Ukraine has received from any country in the world. Reliable partnership with the US helps the Ukrainian government maintain financial stability and support citizens by providing essential public services, such as education and emergency services," he said.
This year, budget support from the US is set at $7.8 billion, of which $5.2 billion has already been mobilized.
