Ukrtransnafta is ready to resume oil transit to Hungary and Slovakia via the repaired Druzhba pipeline, according to Hungary’s MOL company.

“JSC Ukrtransnafta, the company responsible for operating the Ukrainian section of the Druzhba pipeline, has officially informed MOL that repair works on the Druzhba Pipeline have been completed,” the company said in a statement.

It was also noted that force majeure circumstances, which had been in effect since January 27, 2026, were terminated on April 22.

“According to the notification, JSC Ukrtransnafta is ready to resume crude oil transit to Hungary and Slovakia,” the company added.

Resumption of Druzhba operations

The resumption of oil transit comes amid Ukraine’s negotiations with the EU over financial assistance. Oil supplies are seen as one of the factors influencing economic stability and cooperation with European partners.

Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the section of the Druzhba pipeline damaged by Russian shelling had been restored, making it possible to resume operations.

It is also recalled that Hungary and Slovakia revised their position and expressed readiness to support a €90 billion loan for Ukraine, as well as agree to a new package of sanctions against Russia, including relevant EU initiatives.

At the same time, Russia is reportedly planning to suspend oil transit from Kazakhstan to Germany via the Druzhba pipeline starting May 1, and has already sent updated export schedules to the parties.
