Ukraine has increased production of Bohdana self-propelled howitzer to 8 units per month. Previously, this number was at 6 units, according to The New York Times.

Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced an increased production of Bohdana to 6 units at a military selector meeting in December of last year.

However, NYT sources say that production of Ukrainian Bohdanas has now increased to 8 units per month.

"Now, Ukraine’s arms industry is building eight of the self-propelled Bohdana artillery systems each month, and although officials will not say how many they’ve made in total, the increased output signals a potential boom in the country’s domestic weapons production," the report said.

The media also says that Ukrainian defense enterprises have tripled the production of armored vehicles and quadrupled the production of anti-tank missiles.

Bohdana is a Ukrainian-made wheeled 155 mm self-propelled artillery system. Development began at least in 2018. It became the first Ukrainian SPH designed to the NATO standard caliber of 155 mm.

In 2022, the howitzer was first used in the battle for the then-Russian-occupied island of Zmiinyi. This year, it was officially adopted by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

It is known from open sources that only seven units are in service with the Ukrainian military, including non-serial samples.
