Ukraine’s Defense Forces destroyed several important Russian military targets using middle-strike weapons in September 2026. These included aircraft and air defense systems, according to the Defense Minister.

One of the priorities remains targeting Russian air defense, radar, and electronic warfare systems.

In September, the Defense Forces struck, among other targets, two launchers of the S-400 surface-to-air missile system in Russia’s Bryansk region, a 92N6 multifunctional radar from the S-400 system in Sochi, a Buk-M3 air defense system in the Zaporizhzhia region, as well as Pantsir-S1 and Pantsir-S2 surface-to-air gun and missile systems.

The radar equipment hit included Nebo-U, Nebo-SV, Podlyot, Kasta, P-18, and other Russian radar stations. Electronic warfare and signals intelligence systems were also targeted, including the rare Krasukha-4 mobile electronic warfare station and the Grenadier automated signals intelligence posts.

The systematic targeting of these assets weakens the enemy’s ability to control airspace and counter Ukrainian strike capabilities.

Other important military targets were also hit in September. A Su-24 aircraft was struck at the Saky airfield in temporarily occupied Crimea. The destruction of an enemy MiG-29 aircraft and a Ka-27 helicopter was also confirmed during the month.

In Sevastopol, a BK-16 landing craft and a Project 12150 Mangust high-speed patrol boat were hit.

On October 8, drones struck Yandex’s largest data center in Sasovo, in Russia’s Ryazan region. Following a fire, Russians began reporting a global outage affecting the company’s services.

The Redkino plant was attacked overnight on October 9 in Russia’s Tver region. It produces fuel components for Kh-55 and Kh-101 cruise missiles, as well as additives for diesel fuel and aviation kerosene.
