On Saturday, December 12, Ukraine lost a young pilot. He was striking at the enemy in the hottest areas of the frontline, reports the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

“Today, a young Ukrainian pilot, a member of the 299th Tactical Aviation Brigade of the Air Force, who was fighting the occupier in the hottest spots of the frontline, did not return from a combat mission,” the statement said.

The Air Force added that tactical aviation pilots are working to the limit of their capabilities, using all available foreign-made munitions. In particular, the pilots strike in the face of active enemy opposition. In order to fulfill their tasks, our pilots constantly have to enter the enemy's air defense zone and withstand high overloads during dangerous missions.

At the end of the post, the Ukrainian Air Force reminded that the war is ongoing, so they called on Ukrainians to support the army and honor those “who gave the most precious for the future of our children.”

“Our Freedom and Independence comes at a high price. We need enough means and weapons and more determination from our partners to achieve a just peace in Ukraine! We will definitely take revenge for every Ukrainian whose heart has stopped beating because of Russia's senseless war of aggression,” the PF summarized.

In late August, Air Force pilot Oleksii Mes was killed during a large-scale Russian attack on Ukrainian territory. After receiving training in the West, he was flying an F-16 aircraft. During his last and, unfortunately, fatal flight, he managed to shoot down three enemy missiles and a drone.
