Ukraine conducts over 50 military exchanges, repatriates 3,310 citizens - Zelenskyy
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine has already conducted more than fifty prisoner exchanges, resulting in the repatriation of 3,310 Ukrainian citizens.
"53 exchanges. 3,310 of our people who are now home, in Ukraine, with their loved ones," said Zelenskyy.
According to the president, work in this direction continues.
"We continue to search for ways to free every one of our people from Russian captivity – all our military personnel and civilians, adults and children," Zelenskyy noted.
Military exchange in Ukraine
On June 28, another 10 Ukrainians were successfully repatriated, including civilians and the Deputy Head of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People, Neriman Dzhelyal, who was captured in 2021.
According to the Main Intelligence Directorate (HUR), five Ukrainians were repatriated from Belarus.
However, according to the Ombudsman for Human Rights, Dmytro Lubinets, Russia is illegally detaining over 14,000 Ukrainian citizens.
