US President Donald Trump, in an interview with Fox News, has threatened to veto Democratic bills following the Republican Party's defeat in the congressional elections.
"As you know, numerous times. It's the power of veto — it's one of the stronger powers that a President has. They'll send over things that are insane and I'll veto them," Trump said.
The US president also posted a photo of a red baseball cap bearing the word "Veto" on his Truth Social account.
US election results
As a reminder, in the November 3 midterm elections, the Democratic Party gained control of the US Senate. Democrats flipped six seats previously held by Republicans, including in Texas, Kansas, and South Carolina, where they had not won in decades.
US President Donald Trump has already acknowledged the midterm election results and pledged to work with Democrats.
