President of the US Donald Trump said that the US could carry out a military invasion of Nigeria. If this happens, the attack would be swift and brutal, according to his post on Truth Social.

According to Trump, if the government of Nigeria continues to allow the killing of Christians, then the US will immediately stop aid and support and may take other steps as well.

"If the Nigerian Government continues to allow the killing of Christians, the U.S.A. will immediately stop all aid and assistance to Nigeria, and may very well go into that now disgraced country, “guns-a-blazing,” to completely wipe out the Islamic Terrorists who are committing these horrible atrocities," the post said.

The head of the White House also added that he has instructed the Pentagon to prepare for possible actions and advised the Nigerian government to act quickly.

"If we attack, it will be fast, vicious, and sweet, just like the terrorist thugs attack our cherished Christians," Trump concluded.

A day earlier, the American leader said that Christianity in Nigeria is under threat. For this reason, the US considers it a country of particular concern.

According to his post, 3,100 Christians have been killed in Nigeria, and therefore, urgent action must be taken.

Christians in Nigeria are facing one of the largest waves of persecution in the world. According to the European Parliament, between 2019 and 2023, nearly 17,000 Christians were killed in targeted attacks, and in 2025, more than 7,000 lost their lives in the first seven months alone.
