The inauguration of Donald Trump will take place today, January 20, 2025, in Washington, DC. He will officially become the 47th president of the United States. The ceremony will begin at 19:00 Kyiv time, and after the official part, all guests will have a festive lunch, reports NBC News.

Dinner menu at Trump's inauguration

After taking the oath of office, Donald Trump and other dignitaries are expected to attend the inaugural dinner. This solemn and obligatory event has been held for more than fifty years.

Guests should be served:

  • Chesapeake crab cake with tomato tartare, bay sauce, pickled vegetables, romanesco, dill, and onion oil.

The second course will be:

  • A large Omaha Angus Ribeye steak is served with thumbelina carrots, broccoli rabe, a carrot sauce with herbs, red wine truffle jus (a sauce that combines red wine and truffle to create a deep, rich flavor), and potato gratin.

According to a press release from the Joint Congressional Committee on Inaugural Ceremonies, guests will finish the meal with dessert - Minnesota apple ice terrine with sour cream ice cream and salted caramel.

Each dish will be served with a separate wine. One wine will come from Monticello, Virginia, and two from California.

On January 20, 2025, Donald Trump will officially take office as President of the United States, becoming the 47th head of state. This inauguration marks his return to the White House after his first presidential term (2017-2021).

Trump will become the oldest president in US history, taking office at the age of 78.

Due to the unusually low temperatures in Washington, the inauguration ceremony was moved from the traditional outdoor venue to the Capitol Rotunda. The main events will begin at 19:00 Kyiv time.

The ceremony will be attended by former US presidents: Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, Barack Obama, and Joe Biden. Among the international guests are Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and Argentine President Javier Milei. China will be represented by Vice President Han Zheng. Also among the invited guests are well-known entrepreneurs such as Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg, Jeff Bezos, and Shaw Ji Chu.

The musical part of the event will feature performances by such artists as Christopher Macchio, Carrie Underwood, and Lee Greenwood, as well as the Village People.

On his first day in office, President Trump is expected to sign more than 100 executive orders aimed at reversing the policies of the previous Joe Biden administration. These measures will cover the areas of immigration, trade, economy, and climate change.
