Trump's former rival in Republican primary announces she intends to vote for him
Former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley will support former President Donald Trump's candidacy in the 2024 election, reports CNN.
Haley, who served as the US Ambassador to the UN during Trump's previous presidency, stated that Trump was not perfect on important policies for her, but President Joe Biden has been a disaster.
"So I will be voting for Trump," she said.
At the same time, Haley addressed voters and thanked them for their support of her candidacy even after withdrawing from the race, calling on the former president to reach out to these voters.
“Trump would be smart to reach out to the millions of people who voted for me and continue to support me, and not assume that they’re just going to be with him. And I genuinely hope he does that,” Haley said.
On March 5 of this year, Haley officially announced the end of her presidential campaign. Her main competitors were Donald Trump and the incumbent US President Joe Biden.
Presidential election
In November of this year, the US will hold its regular presidential election, with Donald Trump and Joe Biden vying for the position of leader of the nation.
However, media reports have suggested that Biden might withdraw his candidacy from the presidential race in favor of Michelle Obama, the wife of former US President Barack Obama.
