The talks between US and Russian officials in Saudi Arabia have ended and were held to discuss ending the war in Ukraine. Trump-Putin meeting could take place as early as next week, according to Bloomberg.

In Riyadh, the talks were held without the participation of Kyiv's representatives, and Europe is facing difficulties in responding to the speed of events.

The talks followed a call between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin last week, during which key US positions on the conflict changed. The meeting may take place in Saudi Arabia as early as next week, and the delegations of the two countries may agree on its holding as early as today.

The meeting is a way to find out if the Russians are serious and if they are on the same page as the United States about ending the war in Ukraine, according to State Department spokesperson Tammy Bruce, who briefed journalists accompanying Rubio.

The meetings take place in the context of growing tensions between the US and Russia, and the question of Kyiv's participation in future peace agreements remains one of the main challenges in the search for a solution to the conflict.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has already stated that Ukraine will not recognize any agreements without its participation, which raises additional questions about the stability of the negotiation process.

Ukraine supports a peaceful resolution of the conflict, which includes security guarantees for Kyiv. At the same time, the issue of the country's territorial integrity is not subject to discussion.

According to the President of Ukraine, the country seeks peace and wants the war to end, but the end of the conflict must be ensured by providing security guarantees.

He noted that Ukraine wants to receive these guarantees from the United States, the European Union, and the whole of Europe, including Türkiye. At the same time, the President emphasized that Ukraine will never accept a compromise on its territorial integrity.
