Trump may appoint Andrew Peek as senior director for Europe and Eurasia
US President-elect Donald Trump has apparently decided on a candidate for senior director for Europe and Eurasia at the White House National Security Council. It may be Andrew Peek, reports Politico.
The article notes this is not yet a final decision.
About Andrew Peek
Peek is a veteran of the Trump team. In 2017-2019, he served as Deputy Assistant Secretary for Iraq and Iran.
In 2019-2020, he was Trump's adviser on Russia. He lasted only three months in this position and was fired after an investigation was launched against him.
Trump's nominees for key posts
In November, immediately after winning the election, Trump announced his intention to nominate Fox News host and army veteran Pete Hegseth as the new US Secretary of Defense.
Trump also officially appointed Republican Party representative Mike Waltz as National Security Advisor.
