Trump issues stark warning to Iran over failure to strike deal

US President Donald Trump has stated that Iran will have a very hard time if the country does not reach an agreement with Washington, according to his telephone interview with BFMTV.
According to Trump, he does not know whether the sides will reach an agreement anytime soon. But he made it clear that there would be consequences for Tehran in that case.
Trump said he had no idea whether they would do it, and added that if they did not, they would be facing very hard times. He also said they had better make a deal.
Trump’s trip to China was not successful, and opinions in the White House are divided
Yesterday, CNN published a report stating that Trump returned after his meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping essentially without results, particularly regarding the Iran issue.
Against this backdrop, sources told the outlet that officials in Trump’s administration are divided over what to do next. Some of them, including within the Pentagon, are pushing for a more aggressive approach.
Others are in favor of maintaining diplomacy, and Trump himself has also leaned toward this option in recent weeks. However, no final decision has yet been made.
