The US president accused Democrats of threatening to impeach the attorney general and other officials, calling it extortion. He ordered the Justice Department to immediately investigate these actions.
According to Trump, Democrats are threatening numerous people, including the US attorney general, with impeachment and other punishments. He claims that Democrats themselves acknowledge there are no grounds for doing so.
The president called this "extortion at the highest level" and said Democrats must be held accountable for it.
Trump also claims that Democrats are threatening Republican Party donors with prison solely because of their political views. He described this as the use of power and the legal system as a weapon.
The president separately accused Michigan Senator Elissa Slotkin. According to him, she allegedly intends to persecute young people who share Republican values.
"The imprisonment should be against these extortionists, and Republicans should get smart, fast!" Trump wrote.
The president said that Democratic leaders had sent threatening letters to "innocent people."
"I am ordering the Department of Justice to look into this criminal act, immediately!" he wrote.
Following the Republicans' defeat in the elections, internal problems within the Trump administration have intensified. Republican Congressman Thomas Massie of Kentucky, a well-known critic of the president, said he wants to bring the impeachment of Pentagon chief Pete Hegseth to a vote. According to CNN, some Republicans expect the House of Representatives to support the initiative.
Trump, as it became known on November 4, called his advisers and asked whether Hegseth should remain in his position. On the same day, the president publicly told reporters that he was not considering replacing him.
There is also no unity within the White House on Iran. Some officials are advising new strikes, while others are recommending ending the operation, meaning the administration has still not decided on its next steps. On November 4, Vice President JD Vance called the war with Iran the reason for the Republicans' defeat.
