Trump dodges question on Crimea: 'I just wanna see war end'

US President Donald Trump did not answer whether Washington proposes recognizing Crimea as Russian as part of a peace deal between Kyiv and Moscow, according to the statement Trump made while speaking with journalists.
A journalist asked Trump whether a possible agreement between the US and Russia would involve recognizing Crimea as Russian.
"I just wanna see the war end. I don’t care - if they both are happy, if they both sign an agreement. I have no favorites, I don’t wanna have favorites - I just want a deal done," the US leader responded evasively.
He once again criticized former US President Joe Biden, claiming he "should have never let this war happen."
"We’re spending hundreds of billions, maybe 350 billion dollars, we've given to Ukraine. And we could use that money right here. So I’d like to see this end," he added.
Trump also said the most important thing now is to stop the war.
Crimea controversy
Western media previously reported that the US had suggested recognizing Russia’s annexation of Crimea as part of a peace deal between Ukraine and Russia.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, however, emphasized that Ukraine will never recognize Crimea as Russian.
This statement drew criticism from Trump, who believes it undermines peace negotiations with Russia.
