Train plunges off bridge onto highway near Kursk, sparking fire and injuries

Another bridge collapsed overnight in Russia. In Kursk region, part of a train fell onto a highway, according to the Telegram channel TASS.
According to preliminary information, the incident occurred overnight at the 48th kilometer of the Trosna-Kalynivka road in the Zheleznogorsk district, while a freight locomotive was in motion.
Part of the train fell onto the highway located beneath the bridge. A fire broke out at the scene, involving the diesel locomotive.
According to preliminary reports, one of the locomotive drivers sustained leg injuries — the entire crew was taken to the hospital and is currently under medical supervision.
The highway beneath the bridge has been closed, and traffic has been rerouted.
As a reminder, earlier today in Russia’s Bryansk region, a bridge collapsed onto a passenger train traveling the Moscow–Klymovo route. The train derailed as a result.
According to the latest reports, more than 40 people were injured, and seven were killed.
