US President Donald Trump has reacted sharply to Elon Musk's idea to create a third political party in America, according to his Truth Social.

In his opinion, such projects "have never succeeded" and only create chaos.

"I'm saddened to watch Elon Musk go completely 'off the rails'," Trump said.

He compared the businessman's recent actions to a "train wreck" that has been happening over the past five weeks.

Trump emphasized that the US system has historically been a two-party system, and the emergence of a third force will only complicate the political situation.

"The one thing Third Parties are good for is the creation of Complete and Total DISRUPTION&CHAOS," he emphasized.

The president also noted the successes of the Republican Party and criticized the Democrats for losing direction, noting that the emergence of a new party would only add to the confusion.

Musk's party

On July 5, Elon Musk announced the creation of a new political force called the American Party.

It is positioned as an alternative to the two-party system in the United States and is supposed to be a voice for about 80% of centrists who, according to Musk, do not feel represented in either the Republican or Democratic parties.

The reason for this step was the adoption of a new large-scale bill, the Big Beautiful Bill, which Musk criticized as a form of debt slavery.

He strongly opposed Trump's fiscal policy initiatives, calling them "crazy" and "destructive."

Until recently, Musk publicly supported Trump. They appeared together at rallies, and the billionaire spent about $250 million on his election campaign. The passage of the Big Beautiful Bill became a point of rupture.

US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent also criticized the creation of Musk's party.

He said that the billionaire should “do his business” and not get involved in political experiments.
