The issue of supplying Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine remains on the agenda, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said after he met with US President Donald Trump at the White House.

According to Zelenskyy, Trump "must understand that Ukraine needs these weapons too, no less than the United States."

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that discussions on providing Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine are ongoing and have not been canceled.

"Trump must understand that we need Tomahawks too. The topic hasn’t been removed from the talks. We need to work on it," he stated during a briefing after he met with the US president.

Zelenskyy declined to share further details, suggesting that reporters address such questions to the American side. Earlier, he confirmed that long-range weapons, including Tomahawks, had been discussed with Donald Trump but noted that the US does not want escalation, so both sides agreed not to comment publicly on the issue for now.

A day before, following his conversation with Russian leader Vladimir Putin, Trump made a cautious remark about Tomahawks, saying that the US "has plenty of such missiles," but they are currently needed for America’s own defense.
