Top 3 vitamins to boost your health and prevent deficiencies
A doctor named three types of vitamins that can significantly improve health. Supplements can effectively fill deficiencies if the body does not receive them in the required amounts, according to the British doctor Asif Ahmed on TikTok.
Vitamins that are essential for the body
According to the doctor, it is unnecessary to take many supplements to maintain the body’s health. However, he suggested three that would be beneficial for almost everyone.
Magnesium
The first is magnesium. Many people report experiencing side effects when taking it. However, the key is not to take too high a dose.
He explained that the average person only needs about 300–400 milligrams per day.
Magnesium is an essential mineral involved in more than 300 reactions in the human body. Most of these are associated with muscle and nervous system function, blood pressure regulation, immune system support, and resistance to nervous stress.
Creatine Monohydrate
Next, the doctor suggested creatine monohydrate as another supplement worth taking. Many believe it is only for athletes and muscle building.
However, the doctor clarified that it is also beneficial for the mind. He claimed it supports brain health and can help reduce the risk of Alzheimer’s disease.
Omega-3
Omega-3 was the last supplement the doctor recommended. It is necessary to maintain an optimal body fat (lipid) balance, reduce harmful fats in the blood and tissues, more effectively break down cholesterol, and burn fat deposits.
Dr. Ahmed emphasized that it is crucial for those planning to incorporate supplements into their lifestyle to first consult a doctor. They can identify any potential deficiencies.
It is worth noting that endocrinologist and dietitian Kateryna Tolstikova previously told RBC-Ukraine that glycine in doses of 200–400 mg can be taken without a doctor’s prescription. Increasing the dose may cause side effects, so it is better not to take risks.
Additionally, she noted that vitamin D levels in the body decrease when taking magnesium, so it should also be taken additionally.
