The death toll from today's earthquake in Tibet has risen. The Guardian reports 130 injured.

As previously reported by Chinese media, at least 53 people were killed and 62 injured in the earthquake.

As of now, according to state media, the death toll has risen to 95. Another 130 people were injured.

Earthquake in Tibet

An earthquake with a magnitude of 7.1 was recorded in the Tibet Autonomous Region of the People's Republic of China (PRC). Its epicenter was located 181 kilometers north of the Indian city of Darjeeling and 87 kilometers northeast of Mount Everest.

Currently, rescue operations are ongoing, and the number of known injured and dead may increase. As the media reported in the morning, about 1,500 rescuers and firefighters were involved in the operation.

The earthquake also caused serious damage.
