Terrorist attack on Zaporizhzhia NPP: 500 Russians are still at the plant
Approximately 500 Russian military personnel and employees of Rosatom (Russian State Atomiс Energy Corporation - ed.) are currently stationed at the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant, according to a statement by Yurii Malashko, the head of Zaporizhzhia Regional State Administration.
"About 500 Russian military personnel and employees of Rosatom (Russian State Atomiс Energy Corporation - ed.) are present at the plant. We are unaware of the weaponry they possess, as well as the extent to which they have mined and continue to pose a threat to the facility," he said.
Malashko added that the occupiers are using the plant's premises to store ammunition and carry out attacks on populated areas in the Zaporizhzhia and Donetsk regions.
Threat of a terrorist attack at Zaporizhzhia NPP
Recently, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the Russians are planning a terrorist attack at the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant with the release of radioactive substances. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said that the aggressors have further mined the cooling pond of the reactor.
Last week, the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces announced that the occupiers may have planted explosives on the roofs of several reactors of ZNPP. However, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has said that they have not yet found any explosives at the plant, although they were not granted access to inspect the entire territory of the Zaporizhzhia NPP.
