Telegram goes down after update, users report major issues

Telegram Messenger experienced an outage on Thursday, July 31. Users reported issues with the service, according to Downdetector.
In particular, Russian users complained about problems receiving notifications, as well as malfunctions in the mobile app and website. Meanwhile, users in other countries such as the UK, the US, and Germany reported issues connecting to the server and logging into the messenger.
It is noted that the outage occurred after a Telegram update.
Starting July 31, Telegram introduced a global search feature for posts in public channels. This feature is currently available only to Telegram Premium subscribers. They can perform two free searches per day. After that, each additional search costs 10 Telegram Stars, roughly equivalent to 0.5 UAH.
Telegram plans to open an official office in Russia, complying with the so-called landing law. This law requires major IT companies to register and host part of their infrastructure within Russia.
