Tavria front update: Near 500 Russians and 45 equipment units destroyed
Ukrainian troops eliminated almost 500 more Russian occupiers in the Tavria direction over the last day. The Ukrainian Armed Forces also destroyed 45 pieces of Russian military equipment, according to the Joint Press Center of the Tavria Defense Forces.
In total, Russians conducted 35 air strikes, 45 combat engagements, and 591 artillery attacks in the Tavria direction.
The threat of the enemy using missile weapons and unmanned aerial vehicles against military and civilian infrastructure remains high.
In the area of responsibility of the Tavria Operational Strategic Group of troops in the Avdiivka direction, Ukrainian defenders continue to hold back the enemy, who continues to try to encircle Avdiivka.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces are holding steadfast, inflicting significant losses on the invaders. Thus, the Defense Forces repelled 9 enemy attacks in the areas of Novobakhmutivka, Avdiivka, and Severne and another 15 attacks near Pervomaiske and Nevelske in the Donetsk region over the past day.
In the Maryinka direction, the Ukrainian Armed Forces continue to hold back the enemy in the areas of Maryinka and Novomykhailivka in the Donetsk region, where they repelled 16 attacks.
In the Shakhtarsk direction, the enemy did not conduct any offensive (assault) actions.
In the Zaporizhzhia direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled 5 enemy attacks near Robotyne and west of Verbove in the Zaporizhzhia region.
Enemy losses
The total losses of the Russian army amounted to 488 occupiers.
Ukrainian soldiers also destroyed 45 pieces of enemy military equipment, including:
- 4 tanks;
- 7 armored personnel carriers;
- 4 artillery systems;
- 1 anti-tank grenade launchers;
- 25 UAVs;
- 2 vehicles;
- 2 other important enemy targets.
Situation at the frontline
In Ukraine, 73 combat engagements took place in the frontline over the last day. Ukraine Defense Forces repelled several attacks in the Lyman direction and near Avdiivka in the Donetsk region.
At the same time, according to the Institute for War Studies, Ukrainian and Russian troops are engaged in positional fighting in several areas. The Russians complain that the Ukrainian Armed Forces are using drones to prevent them from maneuvering between positions in the Avdiivka direction.
Russia's losses in the war against Ukraine as of Thursday morning, January 11, amounted to 830 occupiers, bringing the total number of Russian army losses since the beginning of the invasion to 367,620. In addition, the Ukrainian Armed Forces destroyed 12 tanks and 22 armored personnel carriers.
