Tanzania's airline cancels flights to Russia after Zelenskyy warning

The Tanzanian airline Air Tanzania has suspended flights between Moscow and Dar es Salaam for security reasons. This followed warnings about a threat to civilian aircraft in Russian airspace.
Air Tanzania officially suspended flights on the Moscow–Dar es Salaam route as of September 4. The company made this decision due to a threat to flight safety.
Direct flights on this route were launched in July of this year—scheduled flights lasted less than two months.
It is currently unknown when flights will resume. Passengers who purchased tickets for flights to the aggressor country have been promised refunds.
The Tanzanian airline is not the only one to have revised its routes. Earlier, the Israeli airline El Al suspended flights to the Russian capital for safety reasons.
The Indian carrier Air India decided to reroute its flights from the US to India to completely bypass Russian airspace. In addition, Turkish airlines have begun canceling some flights to Russia.
Recently, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Russian airspace could become dangerous for civil aviation due to drone activity.
According to the head of state, Ukraine is beginning to close the skies over Russia. At the same time, he called on international airlines and insurance companies to take the associated risks into account.
In addition, Russian media reported that following Zelenskyy's statement, foreign airlines began canceling flights to and from Moscow. In total, approximately 30 flights were canceled.
