The Swedish Armed Forces have adopted a new concept for combat operations by the Swedish Air Force if Russia decides to attack. The tactics call for airstrikes behind enemy lines, according to ERR.
Colonel Carl Bergqvist, head of the Swedish Air Force's Air Operations Center, states that in the event of a Russian attack, Sweden will no longer limit itself to defensive responses but will also begin striking deep into Russian territory.
The central element of this concept is the JAS 39 Gripen multi-role fighters, which are equipped with Taurus KEPD cruise missiles. These missiles have a range of up to 500 kilometers and are designed to destroy well-protected ground targets.
The Swedish military may acquire missiles with a range of 2,000 km. It is worth noting that the distance between Stockholm and Moscow is approximately 1,200 km.
In addition, the Swedish Air Force's new concept calls for the dispersal of combat aircraft and the use of roads for the takeoff and landing of combat aircraft.
Furthermore, the country plans to strengthen its air defense and reconnaissance capabilities using satellites and drones.
