Svitolina soars up three spots, other Ukrainians lose positions - WTA rankings
Ukraine's top seed, Elina Svitolina, has shown significant progress within the top 20 of the Women's Tennis Association (WTA) rankings, citing the organization's official website.
Over the week, the titled Ukrainian moved up three spots to claim the 17th position. The 29-year-old tennis star has accumulated 2332 ranking points.
Meanwhile, her compatriots in the top 50 have lost several positions. Specifically, Dayana Yastremska and Marta Kostyuk dropped four places each, Anhelina Kalinina slipped three, and Lesia Tsurenko fell two spots. However, three out of four Ukrainian tennis players in the top 100 have improved their standings.
The most significant progress was made by Yuliia Starodubtseva, who climbed five positions to claim the 130th spot. Nearby was Daria Snigur (135th). Also within the top 200 rankings are Kateryna Baindl (181st) and Katarina Zavatska (187th).
The leader of the women's rankings remains Iga Swiatek. The Pole has significantly distanced herself from Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka and American Cori Gauff. Elena Rybakina from Kazakhstan and Jessica Pegula (USA) have also made it into the top five.
