Barges forming the defensive line of the Crimean Bridge have suffered significant damage due to a storm that hit the peninsula on November 26. Satellite images revealing the extent of the damage were published by OSINT analyst MT_Anderson.

According to the published images, three barges near the bridge are submerged, with one partially submerged and two completely engulfed in water.

"One barge afloat but not tethered to anything," specifies the researcher.

Storm consequences in Crimea

The temporarily occupied Crimea experienced a powerful storm starting from November 26. The media has already dubbed the storm in the Black Sea the strongest in the last 100 years. At least one fatality is confirmed, and half a million people are left without electricity.

The storm not only washed away the trenches of Russian occupiers on the coast in Yevpatoria but also demolished barriers protecting the Kerch Bridge and Sevastopol Bay from attacks.

According to the Institute for the Study of War, the storm in Crimea has affected the pace of the war in Ukraine but has not completely halted hostilities.
