Statham spotted ringside Usyk-Verhoeven fight: His surprising connection named

Among the pyramids in Giza, on the night of May 23–24, a major boxing event is taking place, the main event of which is the fight between Usyk and Verkhoven. Hollywood actor Jason Statham and his wife, supermodel Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, attended the event.
Statham among the guests of the Usyk–Verkhoven fight
This fight has become one of the most talked-about in the boxing world. The organisers built a special arena right next to the pyramids, turning the fight into a grand show.
Among the guests were Statham and his beloved. They were sitting in the front row, actively watching the competition between the athletes.
For the boxing evening, the 58-year-old actor chose a brown striped suit and dark glasses, while his beloved chose a black dress.

The actor has appeared at such events more than once. He was also at the Usyk–Fury fight.
He personally spoke about that fight on his Instagram, calling the opponents kings.
"Tonight. The two kings," the actor wrote and added a photo of Usyk and Verkhoven.
In addition, he shared footage from Egypt with his wife against the backdrop of the pyramids. For a daytime stroll, the couple chose stylish looks.
Jason wore shorts and a sand-colored shirt, while his wife donned white jeans, a tank top, and a hat.
How Statham is connected to the Usyk–Verkhoven fight
Rico personally said that his story with this fight began with a chance meeting with the actor in Las Vegas in September 2024 during the fight week of Saúl "Canelo" Álvarez vs. Terence Crawford.
At that time, Jason expressed the opinion that the kickboxer could beat all those champions.
"I answered: 'Yeah, 100%,'" Rico said.
The very next morning, the star of "The Transporter" called him and stunned him with the news.
"Yo, bro, I put your name out there, they liked it. They're down. They want to do it. Yeah. They're going to reach out. I gave them your number," he recounted the actor's words in an interview with the BBC.
As is known, Statham is a close acquaintance of the influential Saudi boxing organiser Turki Al-Sheikh. He is the organiser of this fight.
Notably, the kickboxer's team initially considered a fight with Anthony Joshua, but due to a serious car accident involving the boxer, that idea was abandoned.
