Solar flares cause powerful magnetic storm

Scientists have recorded powerful solar flares that could trigger a strong magnetic storm on Earth. The geomagnetic storm is expected to reach the planet in the coming days.
What happened on the Sun
Astronomers have detected a series of powerful X-class solar flares that could cause significant geomagnetic disturbances on Earth. Coronal mass ejections (CME) are directed toward our planet, increasing the risk of a strong magnetic storm.
When is the magnetic storm expected
According to forecasts from the US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), the geomagnetic storm could reach Earth within the next 24-48 hours.
The peak of the storm is expected on April 4-5, with an intensity ranging from G2 to G3 (K-index 5-6).
Note that geomagnetic storms can affect electronics, communication, and navigation systems, as well as human well-being, especially for those sensitive to changes in geomagnetic activity.
How do geomagnetic storms affect humans
Geomagnetic storms can impact:
-
Cardiovascular system (increased blood pressure, headaches)
-
Psycho-emotional state (irritability, insomnia, anxiety)
-
Concentration and productivity (fatigue, reduced attention span)
How to protect yourself during a geomagnetic storm
-
Avoid physical and emotional overload
-
Monitor blood pressure levels
-
Stay hydrated and maintain a healthy diet
-
Reduce caffeine and alcohol intake
-
Spend time outdoors and ventilate indoor spaces
-
Get enough sleep and rest
-
Minimize screen time before bed
