There is a simple way to avoid insomnia and fall asleep in 2 minutes in the evening. It requires nothing but the ability to control your condition. American fitness trainer Justin Agustin tells about it on his YouTube channel.

How to fall asleep quickly

According to him, there is a military-proven technique that allows you to fall asleep in exactly two minutes after closing your eyes.

Justin recommends starting by calming your whole body and "gradually shutting down every part from head to toe."

"Relax your eyes, your cheeks, your jaw, and focus on your breathing. Now go down to your neck and your shoulders. Make sure your shoulders are not tensed up. Drop them as low as you can, and keep your arms loose your side, including hands and fingers," the expert added.

For an added effect, imagine the heat flowing from your head to your fingertips. At the end, take a deep breath, exhale slowly, and relax your chest, abdomen, hips, knees, legs, and feet.

"Again, imagine this warm sensation going down from your heart all the way to your toes. Now, while you are doing this, it is very important to clear your mind from any stresses," the coach said.

To help you achieve a stress-free state, Justin suggests envisioning two specific scenarios. In the first scenario, imagine yourself in a calm environment. In the second one, he tells you to imagine that you are lying in a hammock.

Any time you start thinking about something else or get distracted, repeat these words for ten seconds: "Don't think."

Regular practice of this technique every night for six weeks will allow people to fall asleep within two minutes every night.

Other good habits that will improve your sleep

To help you fall asleep quickly in the evening, you should follow these habits:

  • Keep your sleep schedule - go to bed and wake up at the same time. Do not break the routine on weekends
  • Go to bed only if you feel tired
  • Spend an hour before bedtime relaxing: take a soothing bath, read a book
  • Create a comfortable place to sleep
  • Ventilate your bedroom before going to bed and set the temperature to a comfortable level
