Several explosions were heard in Kyiv during an air raid tonight as air defense forces worked, reported the Mayor of Kyiv Vitaliy Klitschko.
"Air defense is working in the capital. Another group of UAVs is moving towards Kyiv," the mayor said.
Klitschko added that the air defense activity can be heard on the left bank of the capital in the Darnytskyi district.
Earlier, the Ukrainian Air Force reported that attack drones were moving from Boryspil to the capital.
Russians intensify combined attacks
In recent weeks, Russian troops have intensified combined attacks on Ukrainian cities using attack drones and missiles of various types.
For example, late yesterday evening, November 14, the Ukrainian Air Force reported the launch of several groups of Shahed drones in the direction of the central and western regions. Most of them were flying in the direction of the Khmelnytskyi region. Soon after, Ukrainian air defense forces were reported to be operating in the same region.
Later, the Ukrainian Air Force reported that air defense forces had shot down all the Shahed-type kamikaze drones that the Russians had used to attack Ukraine last night, December 15.
In addition, on December 14, the Russians fired "Kinzhal" missiles at Ukraine. One of the missiles was destroyed by air defense forces.
