Secret floor, no phones: Bild leaks details on EU's video call with Trump

For the video conference of US President Donald Trump with the heads of European governments, the German Chancellery has set up record security measures in Berlin, reports Bild.
The main goal is to prevent possible wiretapping, in particular by Russian special services.
The fourth floor of the Office of the Federal Chancellor is considered secret. It is a windowless room specially protected from bugs.
All participants are connected via monitors in a strictly equipped conference room.
According to the reports, even translators are not allowed to be in the center - all conversations are conducted in English.
Only the closest advisers to Chancellor Friedrich Merz and President Volodymyr Zelenskyy are present, and the participants' cell phones remain outside the room, in a special box. The devices are neutralized there with artificial noise so that even phones that are turned off cannot be used for eavesdropping.
Each leader participates from a secure room in his or her office, which ensures the highest level of confidentiality and security of the negotiations.
Three online meetings
On August 13, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy will hold a series of online meetings with US President Donald Trump and European leaders. A total of three separate sessions are planned.
The first conference takes place at noon GMT (3:00 pm Kyiv time) with the participation of Trump, Zelenskyy, and the leaders of Germany, France, Finland, the UK, Italy, Poland, and the EU. NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte also joined the conversation.
The meeting comes on the eve of Trump's summit with Russian president Vladimir Putin.
