Scientist names one habit that helps live longer
A long and healthy life is a dream shared by everyone on our planet. But what does it take to achieve this?
Italian scientist Valter Longo shared one secret of longevity.
About Valter Longo
Longo first began studying longevity extensively in 1989. He currently serves as the director of the Longevity and Cancer Laboratory at the IFOM Institute of Molecular Oncology in Milan, Italy.
However, even Longo, who hopes to live to 120, understands the importance of recognizing what people can change and what is beyond their control, including for himself.
Habit that leads to a long life
After decades of research, Longo has concluded that diet is undeniably the most important factor in longevity.
The scientist himself follows the Mediterranean diet, which, according to research, can reduce the likelihood of developing heart disease and diabetes.
Longo also mentioned that it is crucial to eat at specific times each day.
"I recommended 12 hours of fasting daily. Let’s say you eat between 8 AM and 8 AM or 7 AM and 7 PM," he said.
This eating regimen is known as intermittent fasting. Additionally, the old saying "breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince, dinner like a pauper" is also supported by science, as it promotes health and is closely associated with the diets of people who live the longest in the world.
