Today, incumbent President of Moldova Maia Sandu and presidential candidate Alexandru Stoianoglo held a debate. The former prosecutor general said he supports Ukraine in the war against Russia.

According to the presidential candidate from the pro-Russian Socialist Party of Moldova, if he wins, relations between Ukraine and his country will only get stronger. Sandu's opponent is confident that he will be able to establish constructive relations with Kyiv.

“We will develop good relations with all development partners. We support Ukraine in the war, we provide them with humanitarian aid, and I am confident that our relations will only strengthen during my presidency. Now there are only military statements,” he said.

Sandu, in response, questioned whether Stoianoglo believed what he was saying, as she said that everyone in Kyiv knows that he is a man of Moscow.

In addition to his position on Ukraine, Stoianoglo called himself a supporter of European integration and proposed to sign an act on the irreversibility of Moldova's European path.

The second round of the presidential election will take place on November 3. Maia Sandu and Alexandru Stoianoglo will meet in it.

We would also like to remind you that the first round of presidential elections in Moldova took place last weekend. In addition, a referendum on the country's accession to the European Union was held in parallel.
