One UI 9 has begun rolling out to Samsung flagship smartphones - following the Galaxy Fold 8 and Flip 8, the update has reached the Galaxy S26, S26+, and S26 Ultra, according to Samsung Newsroom.
New tools for shooting and customization
Among the key innovations for multimedia and system work is the My FanCam feature, which automatically tracks a selected person during video recording and keeps them in the center of the frame regardless of movement intensity.
This allows for creating ready-made clips for social media without lengthy manual editing.
Additionally, the daily Now Brief digest has received support for generative cards, enabling users to customize the display of relevant information about health, weather, or video content.
Changes have also affected device technical support: a "Warranty and Care" section has appeared directly in the "Settings" menu.
Users can now check the warranty period for connected gadgets, perform self-diagnostics, find out the approximate repair cost, or schedule a visit to a Samsung Care+ service center.
Contextual help, more accurate scanning, and updated apps
Developers have significantly simplified daily usage scenarios thanks to contextual Now Nudge prompts, which suggest necessary actions depending on the situation - for example, pulling up ticket booking details during messenger chats.
The Creative Studio module now analyzes the calendar and suggests ideas for generating festive images for upcoming events.
The Interpreter function has received a Thread View mode for convenient conversation history review, as well as accelerated speech processing in conversation mode and when using Galaxy Buds headphones.
Document Scan algorithms better straighten curved book pages or crumpled corners, and the updated Finger Eraser tool easily removes fingers from the frame.
In turn, the Voice Recorder now creates text compilations of audio recordings in a structured format using headings and tables for easy reading.
Advanced security standards and fraud protection
In the area of privacy, Samsung has integrated Security Brief notifications directly into the Now Brief digest, allowing for timely detection of malware or applications with excessive permissions.
Local AI models within Privacy Alerts monitor background attempts by applications to access sensors or data.
Additionally, the geographic coverage of the Scam Detection system has expanded, which automatically warns users about potential fraudulent calls.
