A sabotage incident occurred at the base of the Georgian Legion. Georgian soldier Demetre Darchia was killed, according to a statement from Mamuka Mamulashvili, commander of the Georgian Legion, which is fighting in defense of Ukraine.

According to him, Demetre Darchia was killed while defending Ukraine. The incident occurred as a result of a sabotage attack on the base.

"Unfortunately, as a result of a sabotage act carried out at our base, our soldier Demetre Darchia was killed," Mamulashvili said.

He noted that Ukraine's special services and the National Police are conducting an investigation. Mamulashvili also expressed condolences to the family of the deceased.

New stage of prisoner exchange

On June 12, another group of Ukrainian prisoners of war was returned from Russia. RBC-Ukraine published the first images of the exchange and provided detailed coverage of the event.

During this latest stage of the exchange, Ukraine welcomed back severely ill and seriously wounded servicemen, some of whom had previously been listed as missing in action.

The second stage of the exchange took place on June 10, when more wounded and gravely ill prisoners were returned home.

RBC-Ukraine also reported that Ukrainian serviceman Dmytro Shapovalov passed away in the Vinnytsia region. He had returned from captivity on April 26, 2023.
