S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Long-awaited game release date revealed
Developers from GSC Game World announced the final release date of their post-apocalyptic open-world shooter S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl. The announcement was accompanied by a short trailer, according to the official website of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2.
New details of the game
Initially, it was planned to release S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 on April 28, 2022, but the release date was repeatedly postponed: first to December 8, 2022, then to 2023, and finally to the first quarter of 2024 (leaks indicated mid-February).
However, as it became known, the game will not be released on time again. S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl will go on sale only on September 5, 2024, for PC (Steam, GOG, EGS, Microsoft Store), Xbox Series X and S. The release will also be available on Game Pass.
The developers of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl explained the latest postponement due to the need to perfect the technical component of the game, and users who tested the public demos of the project expressed their comments.

Although the goal was clear, and the team was aiming for a release in the first quarter, the shooter still had technical imperfections at the beginning of 2024, which led to GSC's decision to further delay.
Preparations for the trip to the Zone must go smoothly and according to plan, GSC says, and thanks for fans' patience and support.
The authors of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 promise a unique post-apocalyptic world, a non-linear story with consequences of decisions, several endings, hardcore gameplay, and graphics powered by Unreal Engine 5.
