Ukrainian Defense Forces did not shoot down the Russian military plane in the Donetsk region, as it was attacked by the Russians themselves, a source in the military told RBC-Ukraine.
According to the source, the plane shot down near Kostiantynivka was launching modified bombs at the territory controlled by Ukraine. But it was shot down not by Ukrainian air defense, but in a friendly fire.
The source did not provide any other details. Including whether it was a Su-25 or a Su-34.
About the downed plane
Today, videos of a plane crashing near Kostiantynivka were posted online, followed by photos of the wreckage with a red star, a characteristic feature of Russian aviation.
Subsequently, the head of the Kostiantynivka City Military Administration, Serhii Horbunov, said that the wreckage partially landed around the city and in the private sector. There were no casualties or injuries.
Earlier, the General Staff reported that the Ukrainian Defense Forces had hit three command posts of the Russian army with Storm Shadow missiles.
