Russian troops shelled the Central district of Kherson. Due to the attack, the railway station sustained damage, the Kherson Regional Military Administration and Ukrzaliznytsia (Ukrainian Railways) report.

"Around 4:00 p.m., Russian forces launched artillery fire on the Central district of Kherson," the administration stated.

"Due to the shelling, private homes and cars were damaged. Preliminary reports indicate there were no casualties. However, the enemy is surveilling the area with drones in an attempt to carry out repeated strikes," the Regional Military Administration noted.

Ukrzaliznytsia informed that Russian forces once again targeted Kherson's railway infrastructure.

"Passengers and railway employees were unharmed, but a passenger locomotive was hit during the attack. The railway station building was also struck again," the Ukrainian Railways stated.

According to the Ukrzaliznytsia staff, after the air raid alert ended, railway workers, in cooperation with the local administration, organized buses to transport 66 passengers from Kherson to Mykolaiv.

"Railway workers promptly added extra cars to a train already waiting in Mykolaiv to accommodate all the passengers from the Kherson station. All other train services are operating according to schedule," Ukrzaliznytsia added.

Shelling of Kherson

This was not the first strike on the city today. Earlier, a Russian drone dropped an explosive device on a car in Kherson.

In recent weeks, this has not been an isolated incident, as enemy drones have increasingly been used to attack civilians.

For example, on the morning of May 17, Russian forces attacked civilian utility workers in Kherson using a strike drone.

Last month, Russian invaders shelled the center of Kherson. That attack killed one person and injured another.
