Russians regroup assault units in Vovchansk for new attacks - Ukrainian Defense Forces
Russian forces are preparing for assault operations in Vovchansk, located in the northern part of Kharkiv region. The invaders have regrouped their assault units, reports the Operational-Tactical Group Kharkiv on Telegram.
According to the Defense Forces, the situation in the Kharkiv region has not significantly changed. The occupiers continue to attack Ukrainian military positions.
"In Vovchansk, the enemy has regrouped the assault units of the 153rd Tank Regiment in preparation for assault operations, and is also conducting an internal rotation of personnel in the 138th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade," the report states.
Additionally, in the Kozacha Lopan – Zolochiv area, the occupiers have increased aerial reconnaissance with drones, searching for Ukrainian Armed Forces units.
In the Vovchansk area, there were four combat engagements over the past day. Since the beginning of today, the Defense Forces have repelled one enemy attack.
Situation in the Kharkiv region
Since May 2024, Russian forces have been attempting to break through the defenses of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the northern part of Kharkiv region. While the Ukrainian forces have managed to halt the Russian advance, fighting in the Kharkiv area continues.
The Defense Forces report that the occupiers are preparing for new assault operations in the Vovchansk area. According to defenders, the Russians may be planning assaults on the aggregate plant and high-rise buildings.
Furthermore, the occupiers are shelling settlements in the Kharkiv region. On August 9, the invaders struck Kharkiv, damaging an educational institution.
