In the area near Bakhmut, Russian occupants deployed 42 kamikaze drones against our soldiers' positions. Specifically, in the Lyman-Kupiansk direction, the enemy launched 18 UAVs, reports the Chief of the Public Relations Service of the Ground Forces Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Volodymyr Fito.

"We see that within just a day, 60 drones are being used. On average, the enemy deploys around 40-50 drones in the Khortytsia operational-strategic group responsibility zone," Fito explained.

According to the Chief of the Public Relations Service of the Ground Forces Command, it cannot be stated that the enemy has an advantage in this area over our soldiers.

Bakhmut direction

Fito notes that the Russians are employing a large number of UAVs in the Bakhmut direction. Terrorists launched 42 drones within a day and carried out 486 artillery shellings. The enemy is using FPV and Lancet systems.

"All of this took place in the Klischiivka and Andriivka areas. Ukrainian defenders managed to eliminate 164 Russian occupants and 17 units of military equipment, including one tank. We see that the situation in the Bakhmut direction remains quite tense but controlled," the spokesperson explained, adding that the enemy lacks strategic successes.

Lyman-Kupiansk direction

During the day, Russians launched 18 kamikaze drones. Particularly in the Kupiansk direction, they conducted 602 shelling operations and 10 airstrikes.

Frontline situation

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Ukrainian soldiers continue storming operations south of Bakhmut in the Donetsk region and advancing operations in the Melitopol direction. Specifically, the military continues to hold defense in the Avdiivka area.

As per analysts from the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), the Armed Forces of Ukraine also continue their offensive operations on the eastern (left) bank of the Kherson region.
