Russians destroy all houses: Ukrainian forces reveal details of Kurakhove defense

The Russian army is attempting to destroy all buildings in Kurakhove, thereby eliminating any potential defensive positions for the Ukrainian Armed Forces, RBC-Ukraine reports, citing Spokesperson for the Khortytsia operational and strategic group of troops, Viktor Trehubov.
According to Trehubov, Russian forces are targeting even low-rise buildings in the city. As a result, there are practically no fortifications left where defenses can be held.
"Any building is a fortification. If the area is reduced to scorched earth, holding a defensive line becomes impossible. The Russians have been using this tactic since the days of the Donetsk airport battle, and they are applying it in Kurakhove. That's why their operation there is taking so long," the Spokesperson explained.
The Ukrainian military also noted that despite the destruction, Ukrainian forces continue to inflict losses on Russian troops and strike their positions.
"Currently, the situation in Kurakhove is quite difficult because a significant part of the city has been destroyed. Ukrainian forces are holding out in the western part of the city, including maintaining control over the thermal power plant located there," he emphasized.
Situation in Kurakhove
Currently, the Kurakhove sector remains one of the most intense frontline locations. Reports had surfaced about the encirclement of Ukrainian troops near the settlements of Uspenivka and Trudove, close to Kurakhove. However, the Armed Forces of Ukraine refuted this information, stating that their forces had been withdrawn.
Meanwhile, the Russian army continues to attack the urban areas of Kurakhove. Measures are underway to contain and eliminate enemy assault groups.
