Russian troops abduct local Ukrainian journalist in Kherson region for second time
Russian invaders in the temporarily occupied Kakhovka of the Kherson region kidnapped the Ukrainian journalist of the local newspaper, Zhanna Kyselioova. This is the second abduction of her by the Russian occupiers, according to the Kakhovka City Territorial Community.
On June 27, Russian invaders took 56-year-old Zhanna Kyselioova from her apartment.
The woman's whereabouts are currently unknown.
According to the City Military Administration, the Russian military already kidnapped Zhanna Kyselioova in September 2022 and kept her in the basement for almost a month.
Zhanna Kyselioova headed the local newspaper Kakhovska Zoria for many years and fought for its denationalization. In 2020, she was elected a deputy of the Kakhovka City Council.
Russian troops kill media representatives
At the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the Russian occupiers in the city of Irpin shot and killed a journalist for The New York Times. Another journalist was wounded then.
Earlier, on March 2, as a result of a Russian missile attack on a TV tower in Kyiv, the first Ukrainian media worker since Russia's full-scale war against Ukraine was killed.
A few days later, Russian saboteurs fired at journalists of the British TV channel Sky News.
In addition, Ukrainian photographer and documentarian Maks Levin was killed by Russian troops in the Kyiv region.
The Russian occupiers also killed Ukrainian military journalist Oleksii Chubashev.
