Russian strike on Kyiv damages dozens of homes, kills and injures civilians

Russia launched a combined attack on Kyiv overnight on September 30, using jet-powered drones and ballistic missiles. The attack caused extensive damage across the city and claimed lives, according to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.
According to rescuers, fires and destruction were reported in four districts of the city following Russian attacks from the evening of September 29 through the night of September 30. In particular:
- In the Sviatoshynskyi district, a private house caught fire, and about 10 others were damaged.
- In the Podilskyi district, Russian forces struck a non-residential building, causing a fire on the roof and among construction materials on the sixth floor. A fire and structural damage were also reported at a warehouse, which firefighters quickly extinguished. At another location, a two-story private house caught fire.
- In the Holosiivskyi district, a bathhouse, a utility shed and a concrete mixer caught fire. The fires were extinguished.
- In the Solomianskyi district, grass caught fire in an open area.
According to the latest data, the death toll from the attack has risen to two. Another four people were injured.

Attacks on Kyiv and the region
As a reminder, Kyiv was also hit by a combined attack overnight on September 29. The drone and ballistic missile strikes damaged an educational institution and an administrative building.
We also reported that Russian forces attacked the Kyiv region overnight. The strikes damaged and destroyed houses, and a child was found dead.
