Russian forces have launched missile strikes on the port of Kherson, damaging the right side of the cargo ship KURUOGLU-3, according to the Deniz İscileri platform.

"The ship, which was docked in the port for the loading of 2800 tons of bulk cargo of nitrogen fertilizer - granular urea - and has been stranded for two years due to the war, was hit by two rockets on the right side," the statement said.

It is noted that due to the mine threat in the Black Sea, the Turkish ship has been stranded in the port of Kherson since February 22, 2022.

The Turkish organization reports that there is no information about how many crew members were on board and in what condition they were.

Shelling of Kherson

Russian forces have intensified shelling of Kherson and the right bank of the Kherson region after Ukrainian Defense Forces regained control of these areas in the fall of 2022.

For example, on December 26, 2023, occupiers shelled the railway station in Kherson. A 29-year-old police officer from the Kirovohrad region was killed. In addition, two police officers from the Kherson region and two civilians were injured.

Moreover, on the night of February 16, the Russians also struck the regional center. Due to infrastructure damage, trolleybuses did not operate. Additionally, on February 28, a farm and an elevator were damaged as a result of enemy shelling.
