Russian drone strike hits recruitment center in Poltava, leaving dead and injured

This morning, July 3, Russian troops attacked the recruitment center in Poltava with Shahed drones. There are dead and wounded, according to the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
"Today, on July 3, around 9 am (Kyiv time), the enemy attacked the city of Poltava. As a result of one of the hits, a fire broke out in the building of the Poltava Territorial Center of Recruitment and Social Support (TCR)," the Land Forces said.
Another hit caused a fire on the territory of a private residential building near the Poltava TCR.
"Unfortunately, there are dead and wounded, including civilians. Emergency services are working at the scene. Additional information about the victims is being clarified and will be announced later," the Armed Forces added.
What the military authorities say
According to Volodymyr Kohut, head of the Poltava military administration, the enemy struck at the Poltava community. The strike caused a fire at the scene. Civilian infrastructure was damaged.
"According to preliminary information, unfortunately, two people were killed and 11 were wounded. An emergency response headquarters has been deployed at the site. All necessary services are working," added Kohut.
What was before
This morning, July 3, Poltava residents heard an explosion. The Ukrainian Air Force warned of a drone attack on the regional center.
The Air Force reported that attack drones were flying towards the regional center from the north and west.
"Poltava - UAVs flying towards the city from the north and west. Stay in shelters," the Air Force said.
Secretary of the Poltava City Council Kateryna Yamshchykova noted that the city was under a massive drone attack. She added that operational headquarters are being deployed in the community, and all the necessary services are already working on the ground.
