Russian attack on Ukraine: Air Force reveals number of downed drones
Russian troops launched another attack on Ukraine using kamikaze drones. Air defense forces shot down 21 of the 29 UAVs, according to the Ukrainian Air Force.
"A total of 29 Shahed-136/131 strike UAVs were launched. The air defense shot down 21 of the 29 attack UAVs within Mykolaiv, Kherson, Dnipro, Cherkasy, Kirovohrad, and Khmelnytskyi regions," the report says.
Features of the attack
The attack took place in two waves from the area of Primossko-Akhtarsk (Russia) and Cape Chauda (Crimea).
Mobile firing groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces, fighter aircraft, and anti-aircraft missile units of the Ukrainian Air Force were involved in repelling the air attack. The enemy sent some of the drones to the frontline areas of Kherson and Mykolaiv regions.
The vast majority of the Shaheds were destroyed by units of mobile fire groups of the Air Force and the Defense Forces of Ukraine.

On the evening of January 4 and at the night of January 5, the Russian army again fired kamikaze drones at Ukraine. The attack took place in two waves.
Ukrainian air defense worked in several regions, but there were hits. In particular, 6 UAVs were shot down in the Dnipropetrovsk region, and 5 in the Cherkasy region. In the Bashtanka district of the Mykolaiv region, a drone was hit on the territory of an agricultural enterprise, and in the Kherson region, the enemy attacked a modular town.
