Russian attack on Kyiv: Air defense down over 60 cruise missiles and dozen Kinzhals
During Russia's morning attack on Kyiv, Ukrainian Air Defense Forces shot down more than 60 Kh-101/Kh555/Kh-55 missiles and a dozen Kinzhals, according to the Kyiv City Military Administration.
According to the head of the KCMA, Serhiy Popko, the air raid lasted almost 6 hours in total. First, the enemy launched Shaheds and then launched a missile attack.
The Ukrainian Air Defense Forces and means destroyed all Shahed UAVs, over 60 Kh-101/Kh555/Kh-55 missiles, and a dozen Kh-47M2 Kinzhal missiles.
However, as a result of such a massive missile attack, unfortunately, residential buildings were destroyed and infrastructure was damaged. There are victims.
"The consequences are especially terrible in the Solomianskyi district. There was a fire in multi-story residential buildings. The fire trapped people on the floors. Rescuers were unblocking and evacuating people," Popko adds.
Preliminary, more than 25 victims have been identified. This data is still being clarified.
Russian attack on Kyiv on January 2
On the morning of January 2, Russian troops launched another massive attack on Kyiv. Debris fell in several districts of the capital, and there were power and water outages and fires.
