Drones attacked Serpukhov in Russia’s Moscow region on the morning of October 22. The 75th Arsenal, which repairs Buk and S-300V air defense systems, was likely hit, according to monitoring channels.

Explosions were heard in Serpukhov, and a missile threat was declared in the city. There is no official information on the consequences of the attack yet.

The facility repairs Russian Buk and S-300V surface-to-air missile systems.

These systems protect Russian troops and strategic facilities from aerial attacks, so putting the arsenal out of operation could complicate repairs to Russia’s damaged air defenses.

Serpukhov is just one of the targets in a large-scale attack on Russia that has been underway since overnight. Explosions were reported in Lipetsk, Tula, Kursk and Belgorod regions, while Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin claimed that 90 drones had been heading toward the Russian capital.

Russia is trying to strengthen protection around key facilities. For example, Russia has deployed 33 air defense positions around drone manufacturing plants in Alabuga, making it one of the country's most heavily protected sites.

However, the scale of the attacks is growing. Overnight on October 14, Ukraine’s Defense Forces launched more than 900 drones at 20 Russian regions.
