Russian forces launched more than 650 drones and over 50 missiles at Ukraine overnight. Many targets were shot down, but there were hits, according to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

“In many of our regions, emergency and rescue operations are still underway after last night’s Russian attack. It was a complex, combined strike: the enemy used more than 650 drones and over fifty missiles of various types, including ballistic and aeroballistic ones. Many were shot down, but unfortunately, there have been hits,” Zelenskyy said.

As a result of the attack, ordinary residential buildings in Zaporizhzhia were damaged, and a dormitory was destroyed. Dozens of people were injured in the strike, including five children. Sadly, two people were killed. Rescue operations continue.

In Ladyzhyn, a seven-year-old boy was seriously wounded. There were also many strikes on energy infrastructure and civilian life in the regions: Vinnytsia, Kyiv, Mykolaiv, Cherkasy, Poltava, Dnipro, Chernihiv, Sumy, Ivano-Frankivsk, and Lviv regions.

“All the necessary services are deployed on the sites. All efforts should be made to restore power and water supply as swiftly as possible wherever it’s been disrupted,” the President of Ukraine added.

He also emphasized that Russia continues its terrorist war against life, and it is important that every such vile attack on civilians returns to Russia with concrete consequences – through sanctions and real pressure.

“We count on America, Europe, and the G7 countries not to ignore this Moscow’s intent to destroy everything. New steps are needed to increase pressure – on Russia’s oil and gas industry, its financial system, and through secondary sanctions on those who bankroll this war. I thank everyone who works for peace,” he added.

Massive attack against Ukraine on October 30

On the night of October 30, Russia carried out new massive combined strikes on Ukraine, primarily targeting energy facilities.

According to the DTEK energy company, Russian troops attacked the company’s thermal power plants in various regions of Ukraine. This is already the third massive strike on TPPs in October.

More details about the consequences of the enemy strike are available in the RBC-Ukraine report.
